Cats & dogs.....

It's that time of year in Greece when we have very bad thunderstorms with rain that could drowned a cat in seconds ( Yay ).... I heard the Misses tell the Guv it was raining cats & dogs, but I looked everywhere outside, got soaked and could not find any!
Now to stop the Guv being afraid of the thunder as you can see I looked after him in the basement
(he tells people it's me that scared of thunder though)

It's oil ended up bottled....

Well this is the last bit of my blog about olive oil.

Looks a bit messy to me

Tomorrow I'll tell you about the massive thunderstorms we have had
and how I had to protect my people !

Oil in a days work...

So as I promised in my previous blog here are some screen shots of the oil press in Messinias.  Near my pad there are quite a few and they all are rapidly filling up with sacks of olives waiting to be pressed.

I'll show you some more tomorrow !

It's olive time

One of the Guv's friends posted online a video of the locals picking the olives and I thought "I don't recall ever showing my friends the making of oil".  So my blog today shows you ME in the olive grove near my house and a screen shot of locals from Messini collecting the olives.

I'll show you inside the olive press on my next posting

It's hard work

The only thing about being a Greek dog is you have to stick to the Greek working day.  Up early (and I always am), but then being "forced" to stick to Greek quiet time and having to siesta from 1430hrs to 1700hrs (at least!) Especially on days like today when the balcony is over 20C  ðŸ˜Š

Monday 21 November 2016

Sun arise, early in the morning.....

Normal start to the day for me here in Greece with a very early morning walk on the beach as the Misses still thinks it's going to rain.  Now the Guv has left the poppymobile in such a position I know he's going out again, I've got to find a way to make him take me with him!

Sunday 20 November 2016

No rain yet.....

Well the Misses said it was going to rain last night and it didn't.  So up early this morning for my morning run-a-bout and temperatures had already reached into double figures.  Now the Guv has no excuse for not doing a bit of gardening!

Lots of water

When I was  staying at my other pad in France here in Greece there was a very big storm that caused lots of flooding, you may recall I posted some photographs of some of the damage on the beaches some weeks back.  Well the humans that work for the local council have now widened the rivers that take water from the hills to the sea by clearing the banks, but it looks to me as if they forgot to dig out the bit that goes into the sea and it's flooded the farmers fields!

Lazy days....

Still not a lot to tell you about at the moment.  I get taken to the beach each morning for my exercise (the photo is from this morning at 8am). Yesterday after my run-a-round my people did take me to "Cine" again with them and we met some friends for a morning coffee.

It's still good and warm here in the day, so I'm just going to have a lazy day on my sun-lounger.....

Nothing for dogs....

Not a lot doing today but an early morning walk along West Beach then with my people at
Cine so they can have a coffee (and the Guv had chocolate cake).
Nothing for dogs though !

They'll not stop me...

I also forgot to show you all the ferry we sail on.  My people always make sure I'm allowed in the cabin with them and not left in the kennels, but I'm not really allowed in other public areas.
Now as you can see there may be a stop sign, but don't they know some dogs can't read!

The plan fails...

Continuing from yesterday I must tell you about the near catastrophe (as the Guv called it) we had when we arrived at the human kennel the Guv had booked via Hotels.com. In short IT HAD CLOSED for the month. Fortunately the Guv had the hotel phone number and the owners came to the front doors, opened up and discussion to place.....
The Guv said " credit where is due," they gave us a room that was still prepared, and even cooked dinner for my people that night, so in the massive kennel we were the only people!

This is my idea of a catastrophe though
(Cat ass trophy)

My stop overs....

I suddenly remembered I have not told you about any of the human kennels we stay in on our journey between my Greek and  French pad. As the Guv normally pulls a trailer behind the poppymobile he has to always find somewhere with secure parking, that will allow me in and if you know the Guv it has to be cheap!

This is our normal stop in Parma, Italy, all the Guv's criteria are met, and they have a very, very good human eating place.  What's more they always put a doggy dish out for me in the room....

The bottom photo is in Chambery, the kennel meets all his requirements and has a good breakfast available. Also there are loads of human eating places within walking distance, and a supermarket fuel station......the Guv likes cheap diesel for the journey as well !

The day that the rains came down......

As I was saying yesterday I was very glad we missed the storms that occurred a few weeks back. Whilst a couple of the beaches I go to escaped damage just look what happened to this beach in the village just down the hill from us...

Don't think I'll risk running about here today and getting splinters in my paws.

......and some people complain about small pot holes in the road!

Back to normal

Well it's back to the early morning beach walks for me.  Mind you some of the beaches still have
the left overs of the severe storms from last month, I'll show you some of the photos in a few days.
Definitely glad we missed those!

Tuesday 1 November 2016

I'm back.......

Yes I'm back home and after a long wait my pad has a phone line and internet connection again!

Not very good weather for the Guv to drive in. The first rain in our part of France for some weeks and on the very morning we set off.  It continued all through France until we got to Italy
THEN IT SNOWED !

Waiting for the ferry at Ancona at least the weather is better....

It's a long journey!
