Oh I love a sunny day

It's the last day of the year and quite warm in the sun so I thought I would spend a bit of time outside my pad on my french bed. The Guv and the Misses have just gone inside after having their morning coffee out here. I got a cream cracker and custard cream !!!

Merry Christmas

MERRY  CHRISTMAS

Early up.....

Unlike the Guv I do like these dark mornings.  You see I still wake the Guv up and get him out of bed at 0700hrs, then we go downstairs and he makes breakfast for us both. After that he normally watches the news and I get to snooze again in front of a warm fire before we go out for our walk....

Christmas Forest...

Well the Misses has been busy over the last few days turning my pad into some sort of arboretum !  As you can see she was not satisfied with one Christmas tree she had to have THREE....one for the reception room, one for the lounge and one for the family room.

The stair cases did not escape either (as you can see), in fact if it did not move it got "tinselled" ....I ran and hid.

Driving home for Christmas

I must say I'm real glad to be back in my French home tonight. Our journey started off in the sun in Greece but in Italy things got real tough as you can see. The "poppymobile" with the Guv driving and towing a heavy trailer full of goodies proved just what a 4x4 can do.

Mind you we were stopped for about an hour as the snow built up around us owing to trucks
getting stuck and being abandoned.

The Guv just kept on going

......and going

mind you my people decided not to try and get into the service station
near the Frejus tunnel.....it looked a bit blocked !

... but were mighty glad to get to the tunnel entrance, many did not and scores of trucks were stuck out in the snow overnight.

Me.....I stayed warm in the "poppymobile"

Tired but now relaxed

As I told you yesterday I got taken to Kalamata by my people and I had to go shopping with them.  Whilst the Misses was looking to buy a new handbag I decided to have a rest by the old church.

I was however glad to get home and relax...

Wednesday 6 December 2017

That hat, that hat, where did you get that hat?

A morning walk then off to the city of Kalamata with the Guv and the Misses. Home made mince pies taken to a friend of ours then shopping.  The Misses wanted a new handbag so a walk to the old town was in order and a visit to the bag and hat shop.  They wanted to buy me a hat, but I already have one !!!!

Bottoms up !

Quite a normal morning starting with the seaside walk-a-bout, mind you it did go on a bit longer than normal as the Misses went off to the "fur-dresser" as she said "just for a trim"
The Guv and I took our time and had a wander around the town, then a rest near the harbour (which has now been cleared of storm damage).

Results of big wind !

You may recall from a previous blog I told you about the thunder & lightening storms we had here in my homeland. Well more recently besides it being quite warm we had some very strong winds and this is the result along the sea front in the town near us.

Very often when I come down here for a walk-a-bout there are campervans parked along the sea front, good job they are not here when this happens, they would have been blown over and hit by big pebbles.

Sausages & wind

It was a bit windy this morning for the morning beach walk, what is more my pad had no electric from 0300hrs - 1330hrs so my people took me out to Cine  cafe for their morning coffee. I got a special treat when we returned home, left over sausages!

Big red is broke

The trip to the beach the last few days has been different.  You see the "poppymobile" had to go to the car doctor so the Guv has hired this little white tin box. Well I must say you could not swing a cat in it, and I'd like to do that!

I am told the poppymobile has to have a new flywheel and clutch (what ever that may be), but I know the Guv was not happy as he thought it was only the clutch slipping, and then only when he was pulling the human kennel on wheels.  Due to the cost I guess I'm on cheap rations for a while.

I don't like it !

I don't like thunder !!  Where's a canine to hide so we can't see the lightening or hear the thunder claps?  Well I think I found the best place in my pad, the rain room.  The Misses even made it comfortable for me.....

Early up, early out

Another very early beach walk for me this morning as the Guv and the Misses had to go to the tooth doctor in Kalamata. Mind you my mate "Blue" from down the road was up and out early as well as I think I saw his dad's car going to another beach near us just before 0800hrs !

The Misses then went to have her fur cut so the Guv and I went to church !

....and later to our favourite cafe for refreshments...

Another day, another beach....

Another shopping day for the Misses today, but that meant I got a run-a-bout on a different beach for a change.  Mind you the Guv spoilt my fun as he would not let me chase the cats that were strolling around !

Friday 10 November 2017

Twice in a day....

Well today was a good day. Not only did I get the normal morning beach walk with the Guv as the Misses went to the market on the sea front,  we also went out again later and met some friends for coffee.  After that it was off to the yacht club for lunch and a cool beer for the Guv as temperatures reached 25C.  I like it there as I get to look out over the balcony at all the goings on..........

In BIG trouble.....

I got into BIG trouble yesterday after the morning walk!  The Guv decided to take me up this path through the groves to the old church near us.  Well that was all OK, but when we went back down to the "poppymobile" a Greek canine in the back of a pick up truck decided to bark abuse at me....
I'm not having any of that I thought, so took off at a pace of knots after it. Chased it all the way to the beach and gave the mutt a piece of my mind!
The Misses and Guv were not too happy with me though as they had to drive to come and find me......           never spoke to me all day !

Friday 3 November 2017

Mary, Mary quite contrary....

Now the Misses likes her garden but again this year whilst we were away some of the trees never got any water as the watering system was not turned on! In true fashion however the the trees that live and produce the most are the ones she has little use for, flowers on the Yucca and fruit on the Κυδωνi (Quince).

So I thought I had better help start to dig holes for new trees !!!!

It's the rain room....

Another visit to the "rain room" the other day!  What is it with you humans that seem to want us canines to keep clean?  The Misses sometimes wears smelly perfumes and the Guv sometimes wears smelly aftershave, why can't I wear nice aromatic fox smelling scent?

Saturday 28 October 2017

Oh no, it's Ochi

Well I had to get out extra early this morning for my walk about.  In fact I did not go to the normal beaches but to our nearest town for a walk on the flat around the harbour.  You see I have hurt my shoulder so walking is a bit difficult at present.
The other reason for an extra early walk was to get out before the big Ochi Day parades start.  Nearly all towns and villages have big parades as it's a national holiday.  Perhaps I should declare a National Rosie holiday as the Guv often shouts OCHI to me!!

Food for friends...

You may recall a few blogs back I told you about all the dog food my people were bringing from France to the rescue centre here in Greece.  Well the other day it got delivered, just over 200kg of it.    For once I did not mind not getting any.

Make it go away...

OK now my homeland is known to be hot and sunny.  I come back here a week ago and all the grass is burnt dry by the heat and sun and what happens just seven days after I arrive IT THUNDERS and RAINS!
I hate thunder.....make it go away Guv
